We have over 20 years’ experience employing apprentices and many of our site managers, head office and senior leadership team started their careers this way. An apprenticeship with us provides you with a thorough foundation for an exciting and fulfilling career in the construction industry and we are proud to now have expanded to include work placement students, undergraduates, higher and degree apprentices as well.
As part of our ambitions to be a first-choice employer for the best students, we work collaboratively with schools and the Construction Industry Training Board, CITB, as well as with various specialist training providers, colleges and universities, including: First Intuition, Professional Apprenticeships, Didac, Weston College, City of Bristol College, University of South Wales and UWE Bristol.
Construction offers a wide variety of roles at various levels both on site and in head office. To find out which might suit you best, we encourage you to seek professional guidance from a qualified careers adviser, perhaps at school or college. There are also some fantastic resources to help you on the CITB-funded Go Construct website.
At Sweet Construct, we value our apprentices and work with CITB and with specialist training providers, local colleges and universities as part of our ambitions to be a first-choice employer for the best students in the region. To find out more about our apprenticeships programme, please get in touch.
We offer a limited number of work experience opportunities. These last up to five days and students must be over 14 years for office experience and 16 years with suitable transport arrangements if site experience is available. To find out more about our work experience programme, please get in touch.
We offer a limited number of work placements and internships for students on a relevant course. We are always receptive to enquiries from work placement teams and aspire to be a first-choice employer for your best students. To find out more about our work placement and internship programme, please get in touch.
We help to support schools in achieving the Gatsby Benchmarks by talking about the general world of work, the skills that we value, and helping to raise awareness of the many career paths available at different levels on site and in head office in the construction industry. Find out more about our schools’ programme.
We are proud to be involved with the CITB’s local Pathways Into Construction initiative which helps attract individuals that don’t traditionally enter the construction industry. This initiative focuses on inspiration and work-readiness skills and helps to engage those from underrepresented groups.
